Retreats & celebrations · by the sea

Meet downstairs. Live upstairs. Watch the sun go down.

For the team that needs a few days out of the office without a five-star invoice, and for anyone with something to celebrate — a house on the Arabian Sea with a hall below, six suites above, and one sunset a day that nobody wants to miss.

For the team that has earned it

The offsite your team will actually want to go to.

Everyone knows the usual offsite. A city hotel, a ballroom with no windows, a buffet at one, a “team-building activity” at four, and the feeling by Friday that you never left the office — you just moved it.

Here the meeting room is downstairs and the sea is outside the door. You work in the morning while you are sharp. In the afternoon people drift to the beach, the verandah, a line at the fishing spot. At six everyone ends up on the gallery for the sunset without being told to. Dinner, music, a party in the hall if you want one. Then upstairs to sleep, with the surf in the window.

The real work of an offsite happens in those hours between sessions — the walk on the sand where two teams finally understand each other, the late conversation after dinner. We just give you a place where those hours are easy.

One day of a retreat

Work while you are sharp. Then let the coast do the rest.

A shape we suggest — every team bends it to its own agenda.

The honest part

A sea view, without the five-star invoice.

Big resorts price an offsite like a conference: per head, per session, per coffee break, with the sea view as a line item. We are a small house, and we price like one. One quote for the rooms, the hall and the food — written to your headcount and your budget, with nothing added at the end.

Because we host one group at a time, the house is yours for those days: no other company’s lanyards in the corridor, no wedding band competing with your keynote.

And we will be honest about size. The six suites suit a leadership team, a board, or a small company. For a bigger group, the rest of the team stays in hotels in Padubidri, Kaup and Udupi nearby and comes to the sea for the days — we will help arrange rooms and transport.

Something to celebrate

Birthdays, anniversaries, reunions — with the sea as the guest of honour.

A fortieth your friends will drive from Bengaluru for. A parents’ anniversary with three generations around one long table. A college reunion twenty years on. A small party that deserves more than a restaurant’s back room.

The Casuarina Hall takes up to about a hundred and fifty, the beach is right in front for the photographs, the kitchen cooks, and the six suites mean the people who matter most can stay the night instead of driving home. Tell us the occasion and the number of people and we will plan the evening around it.

Here for someone else’s wedding

In town for a wedding? Stay by the sea.

November to February is wedding season on this coast, and half of Bengaluru, Mumbai and the Gulf flies into Mangaluru for one. The halls are in Udupi and Mangaluru; the hotels in town fill up and are much of a muchness.

Stay here instead — thirty-five minutes from Udupi, forty from the airport — and the days between ceremonies become a holiday: the beach in the morning, a long lunch, the sunset, and a quiet room to come back to after a loud night. Families often book the whole house. Write to us early; the season goes fast.

Planning a retreat

What organisers ask us first.

01Can we hold a corporate offsite or meeting at SeaSwara?

Yes. Downstairs there is the Casuarina Hall for up to about 150 and the Chart Room for a board or a small team; upstairs, six suites. The kitchen cooks every meal, the sea gallery is there for sunset, and we host one group at a time.

02How much does a seaside offsite cost?

We quote each retreat to its headcount and days — rooms, hall and food in one written quote, with nothing added at the end. It is priced like a small house, not a convention hotel. Send us your dates and numbers on WhatsApp.

03Our team is bigger than six rooms. Can we still come?

Yes. Many groups put their leadership in the suites and the rest of the team in hotels in Padubidri, Kaup or Udupi nearby, then spend the days here. We will help arrange rooms and transport.

04How do teams from Bengaluru or elsewhere get here?

Fly into Mangaluru (IXE) — about an hour from Bengaluru, ninety minutes from Mumbai, with direct flights from the Gulf. The house is 32 km and about 40 minutes north of the airport. Padubidri railway station is five minutes away.

05Can we have a birthday or anniversary party here?

Yes — in the Casuarina Hall for up to about 150, or as a private dinner in the sea gallery. The kitchen cooks, the six suites let the closest guests stay the night, and we plan the evening around your occasion.

06We are attending a wedding in Udupi or Mangaluru. Can we stay here?

Please do — we are 35 minutes from Udupi and 40 from Mangaluru airport, and a quiet sea-facing room is a good place to recover between ceremonies. Families often book the whole house. November to February fills early, so write to us soon.

Tell us the dates, how many of you there are and what you want the days to feel like. We come back with a plan and one honest quote.
