SeaSwara is on Padubidri Beach Road at Nadsal, near Sagar Vidya Mandir, Padubidri, Udupi district, Karnataka 574111 — on the Arabian Sea coast of India, five minutes on foot from the Blue Flag–certified Padubidri Beach. It is about forty minutes by road from Mangaluru International Airport (IXE), thirty-five minutes from Udupi and Manipal, and eight minutes from Padubidri railway station.

Rooms start at ₹2,200 per night for The Anchorage (our smallest writer's studio) and rise to ₹5,500 per night for The Salon, our two-bedroom sea-facing residence. All rates include breakfast at Kadal. Long-stay and shoulder-season rates are available — please write to stay@seaswara.in.

A pre-arranged house car is the simplest option (₹1,800 one-way, please book at least 24 hours ahead). Taxis at the airport will charge between ₹1,500 and ₹2,200 by meter. The road is NH-66 north, a single forty-minute drive along the coast.

October to mid-March is the dry season — bright sun, calm sea, full restaurant programme, the Kambala buffalo race calendar. June to September is the monsoon — a dramatic, quiet sea, lush green coast, fewer guests and our lowest rates. April and May are warm; we recommend morning and evening for outdoor activities.

Yes. Kadal (coastal Mangalorean) and Lan Hua (Sichuan & Cantonese) are both open to outside diners by reservation. Lan Hua seats only twelve and is evening-only; book at least two days ahead.

We do not have a swimming pool — the sea is a five-minute walk and the river inlet at Sasihithlu is the safer bathing spot. We do not have a gym. Ayurvedic massage and abhyanga can be arranged in a treatment room, by request. The verandah, the reading bench and the daily yoga deck stand in for the spa.

Yes — children of all ages are welcome. The Salon residence sleeps four comfortably. We have travel cots, child-sized cutlery, and a children's menu at Kadal. The garden is fully fenced; the beach is a short supervised walk.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome in The Salon residence and on the verandah. There is a small one-time cleaning fee of ₹500. Please write ahead so we can prepare the room.

Four of the six suites are on the ground floor with step-free access from the entrance. Kadal restaurant is fully step-free. Lan Hua requires two steps down — we can carry plates to a quieter terrace table on request.

English, Hindi, Kannada and Tulu — fluently. Several team members also speak conversational French and Mandarin.

All major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), UPI, NEFT, and cash in INR. We do not accept foreign currency at the front desk; the nearest ATMs are in Padubidri town, about eight minutes away.

Free cancellation up to seven days before arrival. Within seven days, the first night is non-refundable. Within forty-eight hours, the full stay is charged. We are flexible in cases of genuine emergency — please call us.

Yes. The concierge will book the rampani sunset boat, a fishing morning with the Sasihithlu boatmen, the Kambala buffalo races in season, a Mangaluru old-town walking tour, Ayurvedic abhyanga, sunrise yoga, and day cars to Udupi, Karkala or Kateel. Both. Breakfast is included and rotates daily: neer dosa, idli, kori rotti, akki roti, set dosa, plus a non-vegetarian board (kane fry, prawn pickle, omelette) and a fruit-and-yoghurt board. Tell us about allergies at check-in.

SeaSwara is a six-room boutique residence — not a high-rise resort. There are no buffets, no PA system, no fluorescent dawn. Two independent restaurants, daily fresh fish, a verandah keeper who knows your name. Built for travellers who want a quiet, design-led stay close to the airport rather than five-star polish.
